The Plus package is a collection of codecs and filters. Codecs are needed for encoding (and decoding) audio and video.
During the installation you get to choose which components to install, and after installation you will be able to play encoded media right away.
The Lite package is an smaller collection of codecs and filters. Codecs are needed for encoding (and decoding) audio and video.
Even though the lite package is very small in size, it will allow you to play all most audio and video formats, including DivX, XviD, OGG and many more.
Like The Plus package, during the installation you get to choose which components to install, and after installation you will be able to play encoded media right away.
Changes in AVI Codec Pack :
- XviD updated from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3 in both the Lite and the Plus edition.
